Hi,  Friend!

Comics for Christ: An interview with French artist Didier Millotte

By Marija Birchard

Like many children in France, Didier Millotte grew up devouring comic books and imagining their heroes. His childhood passion never faded. Didier has published more than 20 comic books and graphic novels over the last decade, including his recent book on the life of Jesus. Last year, he was recognized as illustrator of the best Christian comic book of 2011 in France.

Today comic books are the world’s most widely-read type of popular literature, capturing the interest of both children and adults. Christian publishers around the globe have begun harnessing the genre to spread the Gospel.

Pray: South Africa writer workshop

Writers in South Africa gather March 17 to 21 to develop manuscripts related to the workshop theme, "Journeys in Restoration, Reconciliation, Transformation and Hope," or have a strong environmental resonance. Trainers include John Maust, president of MAI, and award-winning author Lawrence Darmani of Ghana.

MAI is partnering with A Rocha, an international Christian organization which, inspired by God’s love, engages in scientific research, environmental education and community-based conservation projects.

Pray for:

-The Holy Spirit to equip trainers
-Writers to develop relevant manuscripts to equip the Church and reach readers beyond it

Publishing on a Wall

By Ian Darke

These days I type birthday wishes and other notes on a "wall" to greet my Facebook friends. But a normal bricks-and-mortar wall can still serve to publish a message.

Two friends in Africa recently launched a magazine to help develop reading habits among a people whose language was recently put in written form. To reach a cluster of villages, they decided to publish on a wall in each location. There weren’t any "bricks-and-mortar" walls available, so in each village they asked local leaders for permission to build.
