Africa Asia Europe Latin America USA and Canada
Today MAI works in many countries that could be considered "dry ground." In these places, the church is small and Christian publishing is scarce.
The few titles that do exist are sometimes translations of books conceived in the West--thus reinforcing the notion that Christianity is purely a Western religion. (A friend teaching conversational English in suburban Chicago was asked by a Chinese student, "Was Jesus born in Illinois?" Told no, the student insisted, "Then show me on a map of the United States where was Jesus born.")
MAI seeks to end the drought of life-changing Christian literature in hard places of the world. Given the vision and commitment of Christian publishers and writers in these countries, it's as if clouds are gathering overhead. The heavy rain of locally authored Christian books and articles hasn't fallen yet into the hands of thirsty readers. But it is coming. Toward that end, MAI perseveres.
